Honey is Sweet

Vacation/Holiday report - 2010-07-27

I'm grateful for: one good day of holiday so far, and hopefully more coming; S2 getting off work early, and getting to spend some time with him; enough money to do all this stuff - still spending too much but we can manage. Phew!

Off camping tonight. So far it's been nothing but irritation, frustration and pain so the camping had bloody well better be worth it.

To top it all off, RS is threatening to come and bring next-door-neighbour her current SO. I have nothing against next-door-neighbour, but I am supposed to be having a vacation and dealing with RS and her attendent BS is most definitely *not* vacating.

Or something like that.

It's just an overnight anyway. Can't do real camping with the dogs and cats and cavies and goats and chickens. Can't bring all the dogs, and besides RS would probably fall down and crap herself and leave us to deal with it if we left her alone in the house. She is a constant pain.

She is talking about going back to the U.S. for the first of October. I can only hope. Not that I don't want her to live in Israel, but I DON'T want her living with us. Not for another second. *sigh*

So, anyway... yesterday was a trip to the science museum in J'lem and it was delightful. So vacation isn't all bad. We met friend TF and her son (S3's friend) AF, and FB joined us there as well. A really great time was had by all, followed by just sitting (the adults & D3) while the boys ran around and played joyously together in an outdoor play area. Then the rest of us including FB all went to find a restaurant and ended up at a meat restaurant which was extremely expensive but also really a nice end to the day. Fun, fun, fun and home late (TH was late for the first of two tournament soccer games). Everyone seems to have slept well.

S2 got off of work early today and is napping on my bed while I am typing this. He decided not to come camping with us, which is a relief (not enough room in the tents) and a sadness. I'll miss him, and he could use the chance to do something different and fun. Although, the way this is shaping up maybe it won't be so much fun, and he's better off having the house to himself and getting some sleep. If he does have the house to himself. If RS doesn't drive him completely out of his tree in one night. *sigh*

Well, gotta go. I'm hot and sweaty and tired and I haven't even started yet. Still have to dress, eat, get moving. It's hard. Back sometime late tomorrow because we are going up north to visit with MS my friend who *used* to live in Bareqet, and her son NS who is another of S3's friends. Also shopping for some of that wonderful stuff from the U.S. - Y0rk P-pp-rmint P@tti-s, H-rsh-y's Kiss-s, K-n's salad dressing, B-tty Cr0ck-r frosting... Nothing vital for life but truly appreciated down here in the land of hummus and roasted chicken (and not much else). Oh, I forgot couscous. ;-)

I'm listening to people rifling around in the kitchen - no clue what for.
