I'm grateful for: a relatively quiet house; S3's schoolwork done; homemade cake.

The holiday was quite busy and full. The house was full. Then came S3's birthday. D2 was here and FB came out. We had a young man staying with us for a few days, the woman he came over to volunteer for threw him out ... she is now busy trolling online for another volunteer.

I wish there was some way for us to warn people who are thinking of coming here to help out about her. She gets Americans to come here, thinking they are going to be making a difference, healing the land, working for Israel, whatever, and they never last more than a week. They more often walk off rather than her kicking them out.

This was a particularly nice young man, who trained as a veterinary assistant, and our blind puppy fell in love with him. He is thinking of taking her with him when he can. Fortunately he's found a place on a kibbutz where he can volunteer and be much better off. *sigh* Anyway, he was here for half the week.

Though it was a very full and difficult week, I don't seem to have what to write about, other than S3's new camera. It was a much wanted birthday present, and he's already made several videos, and here is one:

I'm listening to S1 and D3 talking and the dishwasher running.
